Re: What's the difference between Ann Taylor & Ann Taylor Loft?
I think Ann Taylor Loft was originally introduced as a more business casual and weekend wear brand versus Ann Taylor which is more classic business. Loft also tends to be less expensive than Ann Taylor. There's also their outlet stores, too.

I find PRICE to be the #1 difference. For the stuff I buy at the LOFT its equally as dressy as regular Ann Taylor...

Re: What's the difference between Ann Taylor & Ann Taylor Loft?
Loft is more casual than the regular Ann Taylor and I think it caters more toward the younger crowd. The regular Ann Taylor seems more for an older woman, in my opinion! Or, for someone who needs more conservative clothes for work.
I LOVE Ann Taylor Loft! Unfortunately I haven't been in the shopping mood for a few months now I'm bloated from my first trimester of pregnancy and just trying to make due with what I have until it's time to get maternity clothes!

AT has a new designer on board, so alot of their pieces are now very fashion forward and suitable for women in their twenties and thirties. i LOVE shopping there for work attire! Pricey yes, but the quality is great!

Loft is a bit more youthful. Ann Taylor's quality is a little better, but both are great.
I shop at both and always have coupons floating around

No way - The Loft is considerably more casual than AT. They DO have some dressier pieces, but I agree w/ the above poster re: Business Casual vs. Business Professional

I agree. Also, I've been in The Loft recently and it seems ever more casual than it was say...3 or so years ago. Maybe its just me..

Well I guess. The more I think about it, I only really look at the "work stuff" there which is why I haven't been shopping there as much...haha

It's funny because my mom (who is in her late 50's) swore by that store but she even said that 1. they are getting "too young" for her and 2. not so much business casual stuff to choose from.

I agree. I personnaly don't like it as much as I used to. I used to shop there a lot, but now I have trouble finding stuff I like. I feel like they do a lot of cotton and embellished tee-shirt type tops now, whereas I used to be able to get more "blouse" type shirts for work.

There has to be a way to differentiate the 2 brands.
