Re: what's the difference between direct tv and fios?
Fios offers a Direct TV option for areas that don't have regular Fios available yet.

We have Directv, never had any signal problems at all. (Had it for 2 years and have moved during this time). But you need a north (I think) clear sight line so if you have a lot of trees some might need to come down.

Re: what's the difference between direct tv and fios?
I had directv years ago and during one snow storm it was covered with snow and wouldnt work. I had to go outside and spray it with the hose to get the snow off. It was freezing and I am grateful that I moved and now have Fios.

In our area (Town of Brookhaven) you can't get Fios for cable. You get it for phone and internet and then DirectTv for the cable portion

I had dish network and moved to FIOS. I didn't like dish bc whenever there was a bad storm (especially in the summer) the tv would totally go out . I need my TV when it's storming out!

That probably means it wasn't installed properly. I've had DishNetwork for 10+ years, and almost never lose a signal, no matter how bad the storm is. In fact, based on all the posts I read on here, I lose my signal significantly less than Cablevision subscribers....

Same here with Directv. Our friends with cablevision always lose their signal and we never do.
