What's the going rate for pet sitting in your home?
My niece will be taking care of our lab for five days- how much per day should I give her? I honestly have no idea what is appropriate.
ETA- she will be staying there and it's only a mile from her home so not inconvenient. We usually have our neighbors watch the dog (free/barter) but offered the job to our niece because she is having some difficulty getting along with her family and I thought it would be a good break for everyone.

i paid $48 per night bor my labradoodle, but my second dog was only ten dollars per night.

Our dog sitter is 20 for a full day visit at her house (consisting of doggie fun and 2 meals) OR an 1 hour walk and some play at your house where your dog gets all the attention.
I would assume an overnight visit where they are there to solely watch your dog would be a bit more!

Im a pet sitter & get paid $15 for 1/2 hour (feeding walking cleaning up after& playing) and $25-30 for up to an hour.

I have paid between $20 and $30 per day, per dog. I have three dogs. I have a great pet sitter recommendation in the Port Jeff area if you need one.

i think offering her like $75-$100 is goodif that. She gets run of the house and can do what she "wants" that alone is a big perk when you dont have your own place. I would def. provide her with a fridge full of food. Thats what i did with my friends i rarely ever gave them money when they stayed for the weekend since i let them have the run of my place at the time.

My lab recently passed away but we would board him with a couple in Huntington (only watches labs) for $45 a day/nihgt The dogs have the run of the house and yard and food is provided.
I think they might have recently raised their rates but if you are interested in the contact info, let me know. They are absolutely wonderful people and I would HIGHLY recommend.

actually that's nearly the rate here. They charge about $20-$30 per hour and they will feed, walk, play etc with your pet (dog or cat) in my home.
I pay the teenager down the road $20 a day to come by once, feed, clean up after them and check my mail at the cluster.
