a beer or two is fine in my book. My friends have all had a drink or two and still BF. I think the key is to not overdo it and recognize if it happens to bother your DC.

You can have a drink or two while BF'ing...just don't drink too much.

One they get older it is OK to have a drink occasionally. You can go to Kellysmom.com to get more info!

it is totally fine to have one beer or a glass of wine while breastfeeding....If you feel drunk, pump and dump but as long as you are feeling sober, the alcohol has left your system and you can breastfeed

I have a glass of red wine a couple of times a week and I BF. I love it and I think DD does too. She sleeps really well on those nights Chat Icon

my LC told me if it's safe to feed baby after 1 hour of finishing 1 beer or glass of wine.

Same- plus the pump and dump theory isn't a good idea. Once you do not feel the effects of alcohol, its out of your system. Pump and dump is like trying to get sober by drinking caffeine. It doesn't work.

I generally will have a glass or two of wine or similar beverage once she is in bed and not eating for about 7 hours.
