Whats up with these home invasions lately?
Another one happened last night in Wyandanch. W T F??
Your not even safe in your own home anymore  
Here in SI, we are still trying to find the Ninja Burgler. I just dont get it.

It really is! 
I found out last night that my good friends apt was robbed, she lives in the same complex as me!
Luckily she wasn't home and all they took was her jewelry box.

people can't afford to live on LI....they can't get what they want the right way, so they steal things. As the economy gets tougher, the theft goes up.

if someone comes into my house to try to hurt me or my family, I would do the same thing. My husband is a cop and they have a saying, "I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6".

That story about the case in Texas was interesting. I had no idea they still had those laws down there.

It is soo scary. And DH got mad at me last night when he went out and I locked the door after him  He always asks me why I lock the door all the time. Ummm hello because when you are not here I am in the house with your child.

Yup, he did but if I'm not mistaken, his attorneys are saying that the neighbor had asked him to watch over their property, so that the same castle doctrine would apply under those circumstances, which it does say in the penal code.
I'm also interested in seeing how this all pans out.

Yup, I agree.. the guy is like 70 years old too, so I'm sure he could use the whole self-defense thing too. poor guy could have gotten his a$$ beat!! his other neighbors are supporting and rallying for him too.

Just recently in TX. Some people were robbing a guys next door neighbor. He called 911 and told them if they are out before the cops get there he is shooting them. You hear him loading the gun. Then he says they are coming out and I don't see you guys. Then you hear the shooting.
The guy is in trouble now cause it was his neighbors house. And the wife of one of those shot said "you didn't have to kill him" HE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ROBBING SOMEONES HOUSE YOU A$$HOLE! I wouldn't even admit that was my husband

i was thinking the same thing. what worries me is that i'm home alone with the kids at night since DH works nights. this is insane and what upsets me even more is that in one home invasion they tossed a baby down a the stairs
