What's your outdoor dishes/flatware like?
When I was looking to buy last year it was already the middle of summer, and we saw nothing. Ended up getting some decent-looking cheap flatware and one of those pre-boxed sets of dishes from Linens N Things. It's glass, but white. Very simple, and I don't mind them getting used and abused outside. I don't use mats outside; I just pile up the dishes and put the flatware and napkins in a big pretty picnic basket and everyone helps themselves. NOW...I see tons of cute plastic dishware for outside and I'm kicking myself. The stuff I have is too plentiful to just throw away--not to mention that if I did that DH would kill me...a total waste of money.
What about your glasses? I don't like plastic glasses (for beer, fine; not for cocktails or wine IMO b/c then it tastes funny, I think) so I just bring my everyday glasses outside. What do you all do?

I get cheap-y summery stuff from TJ Maxx, Home Goods, etc so in case they are ruined outside, they were not that exp. and I can get some new stuff next summer!

A friend gave us a set of Disney plastic dishes and cups that we use for outdoor parties/GTG's.

I have a really cute set from Target - but I hardly ever use it because I find that when I have BBQ's or family over, there are just so many of us that I end up getting plastic and throwing everything out since it makes the cleanup much easier.
My outdoor set literally just sits in my closet all year long. I have taken it out though for just a smaller group but that doesn't happen that often!

I have a cute set of melamie dishes that I got as a wedding gift, but only used once since I realized halfway through the party that they said not dishwasher safe.
Now I use heavy paper plates.

I get them at Wal-Mart. They are super cheap (less than $2 a piece) and then I don't have to worry if they only last one season.
For big group of 10 plus, I use disposable.
