When a man you've never met before suddenly gives you flowers......
my scent is Coco Mademoiselle, NOT Impulse, but yesterday as I was walking to my date with my destiny (aka dh) a man that works on the block and I see and greet every so often gave me a bouquet of flowers!  
seriously, I walked past him, said good night and he called me back. went to the flower stand, picked out a bouquet and handed it to me.
I was so shocked I didn't know what to say, so I just said "thank you very much" smiled, and continued on my way.
thinking about it, I kinda feel a little guilty and a little weird. I saw him again this morning (he stays outside all day "protecting" a store from thieves).
It was super nice and unexpected, but I feel like I have to be more friendly now than I have been...which I don't feel all that comfortable with.
I am starting to think I should not have accepted the flowers, but that seems rude.
I don't think he wants to become my boyfriend  but I guess my conscience is giving me a hard time.
would you be friendlier now if this happened to you? (say, go from a quicky "Hi" as you fly by to a "hi, good morning, how are you? have a good day/night" sort of thing)
or would you keep it status quo...

I would do my best to keep it status quo but I know I would feel uncomfortable.
I probably would have done what you did, which was accept the flowers and then after the fact questioned whether or not I should have, so I feel your pain!!

wow! you must have looked extra special to him yesterday 
i probably would have done the same thing as well....taken the flowers and kept it moving! I guess you can add a "how are you" here and there. if he approaches you further, then i would give him the whole sorry not interested, etc....

The funiest thing is Impulse was feminine spray - for down there odor!!!

Who's worrying???? I grew up thinking that men were gonna chase me down the street like wild wolves throwing flowers at me cuz I smelled so goddam glorious down there...
I then grew up and discovered that doesn't happen, but after your story, I'm thinking I may be wafting my odor down the wrong streets!!!

he does not advise me on things of this nature. EVER.
he know men like me (sorry if that comment makes me seem conceited. I'm not...that much) and he just laughs. he's the most secure human being I have ever met. it's disturbing actually 
he just laughed when he saw the flowers. and he wouldn't put more thought into it than that.
what would you tell Cindy?

Every since puberty, everybody stared At me, boys girls I can't help it baybee.... Maureen said it best! DH is the same way. My ex was so insecure. It was such a turn off. I love that DH is fine when members of either gender flirt or make passes. He teases me all the time after and calls them my new boyfriend or girlfriend. He gets his too so I have fun teasing him back!!!

I would say well you are a beautiful woman and it's no surprise that would happen.
see, this is why I am not conceited...my dh would NEVER say that to me...he likes to keep me grounded just goes to show, you can't impress everyone!

I'm not worried about dh at all. I just didn't want to hurt this guys feeling, but didn't want to be more friendly than I really want to me.
but I'm over it now.

This is funny, because I'm secure in myself (now, wasn't always) but I would never say I'm conceited.
It's a hard comparison tho bc I don't think I would've accepted the flowers. I'm not saying it's wrong that you did, I just know that I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing so. I would've responded with a "Thanks but no thanks" kind of response.
If I DID accept flowers from a stranger, I would just leave it as a nice thing from a nice person. No need to "further the relationship", keep things as they've always been and hopefully he'll get the hint that you're not looking for anything more.
