When are you having babies?
Twice this weekend I felt like I was being backed into a corner by being asked when are we having kids. One person followed it up by saying I will be all alone when I get older. Mind your own business people!!!!

I turn that question around and make the person asking feel like an idiot for asking it.
I'll put a horrified look on and say "Ewwwwwwwww never! Why would we?!" Works like a charm. People just don't know what to say to that. I've kinda perfected this reply.
eta: regarding the all alone thing? I'd tell them all about the nursing home patients I've personally treated that have plenty of family but are no where to be found, ever. Those patients are alone and consider staff their only family. Just because you breed doesn't mean your spawn will always be there.

When hell freezes over  Luckily at almost 40 not too many people ask me this anymore...and those close to me know it's never happening.  But I do enjoy the few who still persist at times...I think I will start using the line from that article and respond with "When are you going to give your kids away..aren't you sick of them yet???"

I totally agree with that. Anyone who says you will be alone when you get old is nasty and they will end up alone because their family will want nothing to do with their nasty ass.
At this point if anyone asks when I am having a baby, I would just say "when I feel like I want one."

I usually respond with "when you give me the money to pay for their college education"... they don't really respond to that!

It's so funny bc DH and I are childless by choice (for now. We do want kids, but right now we're REALLY enjoying the CF life. I don;t know how I will give it up) and i *never* get these comments. The most I've gotten is like close friends have asked us when we plan to have kids, or people will be like "oh time to get started", and I brush it off. Maybe since I'm eventually going to have kids, i'm not as sensitive but seriously you ladies seem to REALLY find RUDE people.
