When babies are three months old
Do they start to become very vocal? Jack is like a little chatty Cathy. He has been up since 7:20 and has not stopped "Talking" for a second. I feel bad leaving him to go make coffee or eat - because then he has no one to "talk" to. LOL. Thank god DH is feeding him now so I can get some LIF time!
Is this normal -- or will I just have a REALLY talkative kid on my hands!

Lily is in the other room "talking" to herself now... Not sure what it means, but she's happy doing it, so I guess it's a good sign!

Re: When babies are three months old
DD is quite the chatter box too. And she looks at me for a response, so I have to think quick on my feet

Re: When babies are three months old
DD is doing the same thing. NOt only am I thrilled as a mom to hear her talking, but as a speech therapist I am content knowing she is right on track.
Ladies- our babies have discovered their voices. All those coos, hoots, squeals, growls, and everything in between are the very beginning of speech.
Don't feel bad when they have no one to talk to- right now talking to him/herself is extremely entertaining. It also gives them the time to discover new sounds they can create and the undivided attention needed to listen to themselves.
When you are able to play, make the same sounds back at them- it's exciting for your baby to be able to make the same sounds as mommy and daddy.
I am loving this time with DD- we have so much fun.

Re: When babies are three months old
My DD does this now-she is currently lying on the floor next to me "talking away" she is only 7 weeks. I have been thinking that I am going to have a chatter box on my hands (much like her mother!)

Re: When babies are three months old
DD has been doing this for about a month now - she doesn't babble much in front of strangers but around my parents and DH and I she babbles all day esp when we are trying to have a conversation. She also loves to talk to her mobiles but gets annoyed when they don't say anything back after a few minutes.
