Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
Until latelly (he just turned 3 months), DS was sleeping 5-7 hours in the first stretch. Wake up for feeding. Then sleep another 2-3 hours until the next feeding.
For the mommies of babies that sleep all night.. are you EBF/giving BM or is your DC on formula?
As of the last 2-3 weeks, DS goes to bed at 9-9:30pm. He does not make it through the night without another 1 or 2 feedings (1-2am then 4-5am).
How do you guys do it?

This isn't a situation that parents create -- sleeping through the night at that early of an age is simply very good luck.

I've been lucky because all of my boys were sleeping through the night between 2-3mos. So I can't complain. But they were all formula fed and it all started when they went up to drinking 6oz per bottle.

Re: Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
Honestly, I don't think it's the BM or formula, I think it's a developmental thing, some babies just need to eat during the night. I am very blessed and consider myself extremely lucky..
My oldest was BF'd and slept through the night starting with 6 hours clips at 4 weeks old and was sleeping 10-12 hours a night at 8 weeks and still is a great sleeper.
My youngest, she's almost 3 months old, is formula fed and sleeps from 10pm to 6-7am with her miracle blanket from about 5-6 weeks old.
My oldest who was bf is by far a much better sleeper than my youngest who is formula fed from day 1. We did though always do things differently at night for feedings, diaper changes etc. than during the day, so they begin to get their clocks set right.
Hang in there, it will happen sooner or later.

Re: Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
we try to put ds to bed for the night at 9pm but he will usually wake up around 11pm for a feeding... then he will sleep until 4 or 5 am and go back to sleep for another couple of hours... honestly I dont mind him getting up to eat, the worst part is getting him back to sleep, he is just wide awake and wants to play lol we feed him bm...

Re: Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
I will normally put Jack down anywhere between 7-8pm. Sometimes he will wake up for a 2am feeding....sometimes at 5am feeding...sometimes he won't wake up at all.
If he doesn't wake for a feeding then he will get up by 7.
If he does get up for a middle of the night feeding he'll wake up around 8-8:30.

Re: Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
DD is 11 weeks & just last week started sleeping through the night. We put her down after her last feeding at 9pm (bm-but pumped) & she's been sleeping till 530-6am
I dont think we're doing anything special, we're just very lucky

Formula.
She will sleep 9pm-9am. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, but generally that period.

I FF from the start , I attribute that to his sleeping thru the night so early...but he has ALWAYS been able to go long stretchs without eating, even in the hospital.

Re: Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
DD just started sleeping through the night...she goes to bed between 8-9pm, I wake her around 10:30-11pm right before I got to bed to "top" her off (I nurse her) then she gets up at about 6:30am and I BF her again. All of her other feedings during the day are formula since I work.

Re: Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
DS is 9 weeks old and just about 2 weeks ago he started sleeping through the night (going to bed between 8 and 10 pm and sleeping until 7 or 8 am). Up until he was 7 weeks old he was getting breastmilk (pumped) and supplementing w/ formula. Now he is exclusively FF. I'm not sure if there is a connection but he started going thru the night just when we went exclusive FF. Except last night when he got up at 4am for a bottle but his "schedule" was a little off because he slept all day after he got his 2 month shots

Re: Spin off to 3-4 months old babies sleeping throught the night
DS has been sleeping 10 hours since he was 3.5 months.
It started right after my back surgery when we moved him to all formula.
He takes 40 ounces during the day and then sleeps from 8:00 - 7:00 on most nights.

I have the same issues. DS drinks a bottle of pumped BM goes down at 9:30-10pm gets up 1-2 am and then again at 5-6pm. However if i get him down after 10pm, say around 11:30 he will sleep until 3:45 and then again until 6:30. He has a weird sleepign schedule.

DD has been sleeping from about 9-10pm until 530-630am since about 5 weeks - She is EBF only.
