When could your child use a "safety" scissor correctly?

you know, the kids scissors (plastic but still with a sharp edge to cut)

miki has not quite mastered this yet so I was just curious

This is a skill they worked on in Ryan's 3 year old preschool program. He couldn't do it at the beginning of the school year, but he could by the end. So I would say at 3.5 years old.

a bit before 3, but only b/c his speech teacher taught him, I would not have, and he probably wouldnt know how to now if not.

not sure when..maybe 2.5 yrs old?

he wasn't getting it, then leo found a pair at the dollar store that were so great. when they broke, he knew how to use regular kid ones then.

i don't know what they are called, but they had a plastic pieces in between grips that would make scissors spring back open.

they worked on it all year in DDs 3 yr old preschool class. She is getting better but still not great at it..she just turned 4

almost 3 yrs, but most kids dont learn till b/t 3-4 yrs
