when did you buy the baby furniture?
just curious as to when we should start looking, and possibly buying! i know if it has to be ordered it can take a few weeks.
oh and we just had our ultrascreen today and so far so good!!

We wanted to find out if we were having a boy or girl. Once we found out  , we purchased the furniture. I was 20wks.

we bought ours when i was 20 weeks along. Some places take a few months before you can get it and some only take a few weeks. So i wanted to go early just in case!

Furniture can take between 8-12 weeks to be delivered, so I would probably order it around 24 weeks to be on the safe side.
I know a lot of women on the boards have had problems with furniture not coming in on time.
My glider was supposed to come in last weekend and it's not in yet and c-section is scheduled for 12 days from now.

We were told it can take uo to 12 weeks for furniture delivery, so we went at about 23-24 weeks. It ended up being in stock, so we paid for it and left it in the stock room of the store until we were ready for delivery/pick up.

They were waiting for the conversion kit, and they were waiting, waiting etc. Finally we called and they are supposed to be delivering it the week of the 21st. But they kept saying they had to re-schedule. So annoying.

I am 31 weeks and just went back to Behr's to order different furniture since the original set was recalled. The new furniture will be ready by the end of the month~

I was 19 weeks when we ordered it. Received a call this past Friday that it's in (27 weeks) and it will be delivered next Monday (28 weeks).
We ordered from Behr's which claims they take 8-12 weeks for delivery. I've heard some horror stories and thankfully thus far I'm not one of them.

I am almost 16 weeks and we have been looking for the past 2 weeks. Over the weekend we found what we liked and we are going over Spring Break (in 2 wks.) to order everything. It should be in around the end of June which is 3 months before baby arrives but I'd rather have it early anyway. The room will be all ready by then so we can just set it all up and then wait!!

We ordered our furniture 2 weeks ago at about 27 weeks. I only ordered it early because I had coupons for 10% & 15% off and I wanted to use them. It only took 1 week for the furniture to be in stock at the store! We ordered Babi Italia from BRU. I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. Now I just need to find a place to put it while I am getting my carpet replaced!

mom ordered the crib when I was 13 weeks (still not in) and we ordered the changing table last week (14 weeks).
We already got notice that the changing table is here 
(we ordered early becuase I think the set we like will be discontinued soon... the same manufacturer just introduced a line that looks almost exactly like the one we liked, and I think they'll phase out our choice... so we pounced )

We ordered from Behr's at about 20 weeks and it came in by 27 weeks. Our glider from BBB (best chair) came in in less than 4 weeks!

We are ordering ours on Saturday. I will be 20 weeks.
I was told by more than one person that over the summer, many furniture stores (baby furniture and otherwise) close for a week or two to do inventory and possibly go on vacation. So if you are due soon after the end of the summer, you may wish to start earlier.
Most places with a decent reputation will hold it for you regardless of when you decide to set up your nursery. I wouldn't count on the 8 week side of 8-12 weeks regardless of what anyone tells you.
Our nursery will not be set up until Ed-lie Bubbles comes home. She wont be able to see it anyway and won't know the difference.

With my first, we ordered it when I was 20 weeks. We picked it up when I was about 25 weeks, and we had the nursery completely ready by the following week.

The DAY BEFORE my  was born!!! We finished putting the crib together at 11:30 pm and my son was born at 6:35 am - good thing we were on the ball with that, huh? In all fairness, the little guy did make an appearance 18 days early!

My furniture is estimated to take 10 - 12 weeks to come in so we ordered it a while back and are at approximately week 9 and haven't heard anything yet.
