when did you deliver and did your babies come home with you?

Okay BTDT mommies of twins this ones for you...

I know I am getting way ahead of myself but I was just wondering when you delivered and if your brought your babies home with you. I am so paranoid about these babies being in the NICU and not coming home with me. Although I did read somewhere that Lovenox babies are supposed to be bigger and healthier because they are brought close to maximum potential by the increased health of the placenta while on Lovenox.

I delivered at 35w3d and I came home on a Monday and the babies came home on Friday....they were 8 days old. It was hard, but I knew they were in good hands. My older DS was born at 36w and he was also in the NICU, so I had been through it before.
My babies came home together....they kept telling me DS was going to come home by the end of the week but they expected DD to have to stay about 2 weeks, but she did great.

I know A LOT of the twin mommy's on here who had no NICU issues and their babies went home with them!

I had scheduled Csection at 36 weeks. I was in hospital for 4 days Anthony and Giovanna came home with me and Sophia came home 2 days later

I went very early at 30 weeks which meant they were obviously going to be in the NICU for some time. They were there for 6 weeks. My situation wasn't normal though.

i delivered at 37 weeks, both babies dropped below 5lbs but they both came home with me

i delivered at 35wks,2days. i stayed in for 4nights. 1 baby came home with me, we picked up our 2nd little guy the next day.

I delivered at 38 weeks 1 day and they both came home with me.

i delivered emergency c section on wednesday. the girls were born 4.13 and 4.11 we all came home saturday.

i delivered at 35W 6D and brought one baby home with me after 4 days. and the other baby the very next day.. i was very lucky

I delivered via c-section at exactly 36 weeks. Baby A came home with me and we went back for Baby B the following day.

C-section at 36 weeks 6 days (preeclampsia).
We all came home 3 days later.

I delivered vaginally at 38wks...I was induced.
My babies did come home with me. I delivered on a Thursday night and we all went home on Saturday. If you deliver early, or if they are tiny, they will most likely go to the NICU, but it is nothing to worry about...they will just get some extra care.
I think they only stay if there are complications...don't stress about it.

I had an emergency c/s at 36 weeks. Georgie and I went home 4 days later. Hunter, who was born almost 2 lbs heavier than Georgie, had to stay in the NICU for 4 extra days.

Georgie weighed barely 4 lbs when I took him home, so a low weight alone may not keep the baby there.

Hunter failed a Car Seat test that the hospitals do for preemies and then he kept forgetting to breathe when he ate so he was turning blue. He was with me in the hospital the whole time I was there, but these problems developed when as were getting discharged.

Honestly, leaving him there was absolutely horrible. I sobbed the entire day. I couldn't enjoy bringing Georgie home bc his other half was missing. I drank an entire bottle of wine that day.

That being said, I *knew* that he was in great hands in the NICU. He had a nicer hospital room than I did. The staff at Schneider's in LIJ took EXCELLENT care of him. I would even call there at 3am just to see how he was doing. Everyone was awesome.

As rough as it is to not have your baby w/ u, God forbid they sent the baby home before s/he was ready to be home and something happened. I knew that Hunter would be okay when they finally released him.

Sorry for the long-winded answer. I know this is something that I was soooo worried about too. I guess ultimately u just have to trust your drs and know that the babies will be home w/ u when it's safe for them!

Gave birth at 30 weeks. Twin B (2lbs 10.5 ounces) in hospital 5 weeks 4 days (came home weighing 4 pounds 4 ounces). Twin a (2lbs 11 ounces) came home at 6 weeks (weighed 4 pounds 10 ounces).

Both are healthy and happy with no effects of the prematurity

I delivered via c-section at 36wks, 1 day on a Saturday night and we all came home Thursday. They were born at 6lbs5oz and 5lbs6oz. They both spend a little time in the NICU while I was there (only bc I had GD and they wanted to monitor their sugars).

c-section 35 weeks.

Baby A: 6lbs 10 ozs - had a heart issue and came home at a week old, one day after they stretched his pulmonary valve.

Baby B: 3lbs 10 ozs - was IUGR and was about to go home at a week old and then got NEC (necrotizing entercolitis and had to stay for a month). Then had to spend another week, a month later.

delivered 36 weeks and we all went home 2 days later...no nicu.
dont worry you wont know until that day what will happen if they need the nicu it is the best place for them.

I delivered at 37 w 2days, on Friday and the girls came home with me two days later on Sunday- Fathers Day.

I delivered at 38 w 5 days (C/S) and both babies came home with me after 4 days

37w5d and yes they came home with me. They had no issues at all.
I was on lovenox, but never heard info you mentioned.

emergency csection at 32 weeks. Had a really bad pregnancy. I left the hospital 4 days after and they came home with me when they were 35 weeks old which is really really good because they NICU was telling me Thanksgiving or later and they came home a day before Hallloween. I was paranoid about them being in the NICU and it happened. I was prepared for it though after reading a few books.
