when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
I seriously always had a feeling that it wouldn't be easy. If I knew that I didn't need a referral I would have gone to an RE sooner.
What was everyone else's experience??

Same here- My AF's were always irregular (or so I realized after coming off BCP)...I started off with a Gyn. and spent WAY too much time w/ him- wished I had seen an RE sooner also !

Within two months of coming off the pill I knew something was wrong.

I always knew since I had never gotten a regular period. I didn't know what the issue was, but I knew there was an issue.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
I still don't know if anything's actually wrong.
After 3 months I started to get the feeling something might be off. After 6 months I was sure there had to be some reason. After 9 months I asked DH to get an SA done and spoke to my ob/gyn about testing me (who told me to wait 3 more months). After 12 months, had CD 3 blood work and HSG done. Now in our 13th month and still not sure what's wrong since everything came back normal.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
About 9 months in.. I just had this feeling in my gut.
But, also, after I didn't get pg after my m/c. Everyone told me.. oh yeah.. in the 3 months following it will happen... When it didn't, I just knew.
I took Dh for a SA about 9 1/2 months in... We saw a urologist for a while... and then we saw the RE in our 12 month.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
I always knew I had a problem. We have only been ttc since the end of July so I went to an OB/GYN in the beginning of August and she said you just have irregular cycles we will put you on clomid and you will get pregnant, yeah like its that easy. She mis-diagnosed me w/ PCOS saying I didn't have it. She sent me for an internal sono w/ the worst sono tech on the planet and said oh you just didn't ovulate. She referred me to Dr. Goldschlag of Cornell b/c she knew I wanted to get pregnant quickly and I guess didn't want to deal w/ me and how aggressive I was. That was the best thing she ever did for me. I have been w/ my RE since 8/15/08 and should hopefully be having an IUI by next week.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
I always thought I was going to be that girl who got pregnant her first month trying- the "fertile myrtle". Well after about 8 months of really trying (OPK's, temping, etc..) I had a feeling something was off although my cycles were like clockwork. Turned out DH was the problem which we found out after 9 months of trying. I think I got the gut feeling after month 3 or 4.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
I always knew I would have a problem because I HAD so many problems. At 17 I found out I had Endo and PCOS. But since I was youngwhen we started TTC (I was 21), no doctors were really into helping me, and I had a hard time finding one who would. They were all so condascending. I finally found a good ob/gyn and she would just keep telling me month after month to keep trying for one more month. She didn't want to put me on Metformin-even though I ASKED her too, and wouldn't try Clomid because I wasn't getting my period and she wouldn't induce it. Finally, after a year of her being stupid, I started looking for an RE and have been with Dr. K since April.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
Around 18-19 y/o my periods went haywire and I went to many a GYN whose only solution was to put me on BCP (not everyone has a regular period) Many times I'd skip four months and then get AF for 30 days straight...one of the worst time (with me winding up getting a D&C) was when I had AF for nearly 90 days --yeah...that made for a nice healthy sex life So I had been on BCP off and on for over 10 years. One GYN told me that it will be that much difficult for me to get pregnant since it would appear that I am only ovulating, if I'm lucky, 4x a year instead of a "normal" person's 12x. What I really had was PCOS which I guess my GYNs were never really familiar with back then. DH and I tried on our own for about 9 months and then we went to see RE. I'm 37 right now and there is no time to waste.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
For me I knew it was going to be a problem because of my age. All my friends who also got married later in life all had problems and I just figured since we are all so much a like that I would too. Of course I never thought I would be the worst one of all, but again I am older TTC than they were by about 5 years. My cycles have always been regular and DH has no problems. I guess thanks goodness for the little things.

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
I always had normal periods and ovulated like clockwork-but I had 3 losses then finally figured out I had bad tubes. Avoided that with IVf and am 26 weeks with twin boys

Re: when did you first realize that you had IF problems?
I had absolutely no idea that we would have touble conceiving. I got a regular period, ovulated every month. After six months I went to my OB/GYN. All blood work was normal, tubes clear and DH's SA was fine.
Well, two years later and still trying. Turned out I have endo w/ minimal symptoms, uterine polyps and a blood clotting disorder, all of which I believe stems from the endo. Currently doing my second IVF and praying for the best
