When did you put your crib at it's lowest setting?

She's pulling up to stand for the past few days, it's not frequent YET, but am assuming it will get frequent? The mattress is on the middle setting right now, time to put it to the lowest????

DD is 19 months and I think I still have it on the middle setting. She's never tried to get out so we've kept it where it is and it's easier on my back to put her down at night.

We were the same way. Then about 2 weeks ago she started grabbing at her monitor and trying to climb the bars. So we just lowered the mattress to the bottom setting (she is 21 months)

DS is 2 and we have yet to move his mattress to the lowest setting. I believe we lowered it once but he has not tried to climb out of it, so we haven't moved it down any more.

We did Declans because my DH did that one and was under the impression he had to take the crib apart so he lowered it all the way so he wouldn't have to do it again.

When Mommy lowered Ronan's she realized that the crib certainly does not have to come apart so lowered Ronan's halfwayChat Icon

D is definitely trying to climb so its good his is all the way down

7 months because once she learned to pull herself up and stand, she did it all the time, and would try to lean over. She was still too short for that, but I didnt want to take chances or guess when she wouldn't be. We only had it at the middle setting for like 2 weeks.

Re: When did you put your crib at it's lowest setting?

we move it down at 6 months old from the top right to the bottom... as soo as ds started rolling over and putting his hands on the top... ds is very tall and we figured it was easier just to lower it to the bottom... and i was glad i did because ds started pulling to stand at 7 months and his chin was just above the bar

See she is very tall too the bar reaches mid stomach right now at the mid setting, and she tries to look down she does stand..I guess I'll have to just watch and see if it gets to be a problem...

About a month and a half ago. He figured he can stand and climb. So before he bit it, we dropped it down. DS is almost 9mos.

ds is constantly up and down during the night so i didnt want to risk him trying out a new trick in the middle of the night... hearing a thud wasnt worth it to me.. i rather just bend further to get him in and out

Ours was always on the lowest setting. We borrowed ours and the person who owns it set it up that way for us and we never bothered changing it.

Re: When did you put your crib at it's lowest setting?

I just did it last week and DD is 9 months old. She's been able to reach the top bar, but hasn't figured out how to pull herself up. I knew it was only a matter of time, so I lowered it.

Probably in a couple of months. DS is 6 months old & already pulls himself up to stand (Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon), but he's still so short that on the middle setting his face just peeks over the top of the rail on the middle setting while he's standing.

Re: When did you put your crib at it's lowest setting?

DD was 6 months when we did it. We lowered it all the way the first time, so we wouldn't have to worry about it again.

We were going to do it soon as she seems to pull herself up. Soon.

Depending on the height of hte baby I would say as soon as they stand consistently.

DS is a tall child and at 12 months he flipped out of his crib. He wasnt trying to get out, he stood up, started crying leaning on the railing and just flipped right out!

He was fine, luckily my DS is made of steel! He cried for about 30 seconds and asked for his bottle. DH and I were shaking for much longer!!!
