when did you start bringing your dc out to stores/restaurants, etc?
my ds is 7 weeks today and he has not been to a store or restaurant yet.
I'm debating on going to a restaurant tomorrow for lunch, but I dont know if its too soon!

DD is 7 weeks and we just went to lunch at a "less crowded" place on Sunday. I am still nervous and won't go to malls or other stores for a little while longer.

After her first set of shots at one month. Before then I was taking her to the beach and the park.

I actually brought DS to a restaurant at 1 week and 2 weeks but they were practically empty (which is why we were OK with it).

ditto by 7 weeks we were enrolled in Gymboree and loving it. we have always taken our son out everywhere with us and going to resterants is just 1 place we like to go as a family .
so i say go out there with him and enjoy yourself

Us too
We had to take him to look at houses at 5 days old b/c we had to be out of our old house when he was 5 weeks old.
But he was also a spring baby, and last spring was pretty warm too.

DD had her first diner experience yesterday at 19 days old .
Today I ran 3 super-quick errands with her - we were in and out of the stores in under 5 minutes.

I've been bringing DD out since I believe it was the second week...but nothing was crowded. Now, she goes everywhere - but she's 13 1/2 weeks.

We went to a restaurant when she was 3 weeks old. It was quiet and she slept through dinner.

We've been taking DD out since about 3 weeks...but we didn't take her out too often until about a month ago, since she was colicky and having formula allergies...now, at 12 weeks, she goes everywhere with us - shopping, grocery store, dinner at restaurants.

I have teken DD out to relative's houses but no public places yet. Doctor said wait until 8 weeks old. Not sure if I can hold out that long, but I am going to aim for 6 weeks old.

We went out at 2 weeks to do our normal life, I was going stir crazy at home once my husband went back to work...
My friend Liz came to playgroup with her 9 day old daugher the other day. Thats how I am going to be with my second....pop that sucker out and go out shopping moments later!

Immediately after giving birth. All they do at that age is sleep so the carrier usually had the top pulled over. DH and I needed our time to have dinners and when we couldn't get a sitter, we'd just bring the baby along!

Same here-she went out to the Olive Garden at 10 days old, again at 9 weeks, and to the mall with me this weekend (3 months)-she was great, as long as the trip is two hours or less and as long as she is fed and diapered within 1-1.5 hours of when we leave.
