When did you start wearing maternity clothes exclusively?

So here I am at 13 weeks and today is the first time I'm comfortable wearing a pair of pants in about 2 weeks because I'm wearing the only pair of maternity pants I own that are appropriate for the office. At first I just bought things for the weekend because my jeans were hurting me and my shorts were completely out of the question, but now my work clothes - pants, capris and blouses that I wore not 7 days ago - can't be buttoned up around my belly. Or they make me look chubby. And what kills me is that I keep hearing "but you don't need maternity clothes bc you don't look pregnant!" But my damn clothes don't FIT. And it's making me one cranky, uncomfortable and sloppy looking mama-to-be.

So when did you make the switch?

And please tell me it's okay to go out and buy 5 pairs of pants for work today even though DH thinks I should wait.

ETA: I have the bella band. I HATE IT. I put it on, I sit down and it rolls up in the back. I wore it yesterday and spent the whole day pulling on it.

I would have to say for pants around 14 weeks and tops around 22 weeks.

I got uncomfortable around the same time as you. I'm usually a size 6 so I bought size 8 pants and used the bella band with them until about week 20.

I bought 1 pair of pants from Motherhood & ordered 2 more online at Old Navy. All in size Medium.

I also bought about 5 tops in Medium but now at almost 27 weeks my pants feel tight again. But only in the belly!

I have bought shirts in Large now so that's ok but I need to buy 2-3 more pairs of pants in large to be more comfortable.

I kind of have to agree w/ your DH. I'd only buy 3 pairs of pants now in the largest size you are comfortable in. Chances are you will need to add 2 or 3 more pairs before your done!

At first I just went a size up in pants.

I think i was at 18 weeks when I bought my first pair of maternity pants. Until then I did the unbutton with bella band thing. But now they are just too tight to even wear that way.

I bought 4 pairs of pants for work so far (2 were $15 each, so I couldn't resist). And 2 pairs of jeans ($16 for both!!).

I just can't wear the same pants twice in one week to work, so thats why I bought 4 pairs.

I am 18 weeks and I started wearing maternity pants last week, but I have been wearing the same 3 pairs of jeans that were a bit loose on me before I was PG.

I wore a pair of those jeans to work on Tuesday and wanted to rip all my clothes off the second I got home, I was so uncomfortable

16 weeks I began to wear the shirts & the "true waist" pants from ON. 24 weeks I went to roll top pants.

I'm 23 weeks and I can still wear regular sweats, but that's about it. Regular tops I can't wear anymore, because they just don't cover my belly, unless they are empire-waited and extra-long.

I needed the belt around 13 to 14 weeks - most of my clothes are very tight so as soon as the belly bulged a bit they wouldn't close.

Now I am about 19 weeks.. and in DIRE need of maternity!!! Though I have nothing

I do work from home though...

I think from 14 weeks I started with the pants and some shirts. I think by 17 weeks I was totally in maternity.

I started with a couple pairs when I was about 12-13 weeks, now at 15 none of my regular pants fit and i'm wearing only maternity pants. For the shirts it all depends on the style, but I did go to the motherhood store in the Source Mall yesterday and picked up a few shirts & pants for great prices. If you can, you should check them out!!!! Good luck!

Starting at 6 months...at around 24-25 weeks.

i've been wearing maternity pants exclusively since about 12 weeks. i've been carrying super low so it's been hard to button anything. i didn't like the idea of the bella band, so i went straight to maternity pants.

i still don't wear all maternity tops, at 26w4d, but i'm getting there...

I am almost 28 weeks and I still am wearing 2 pairs of regular pants with my balla band.

I am wearing only maternity tops though so people can figure out I am pregnant. I still am on the brink of being fat vs. preggo.

I never got the bella band but I heard that it does help...maybe you can try that?

I bought my first pair of maternity jeans at 14 wks, and then slowly started wearing maternity after that, although not exclusively until about 18 wks or so.
Honestly, I wouldnt buy so many new pants right now bc your body will still be changing so much and what is comfy now many not be for the rest of your pregnancy...

I am 19 weeks and I am still wearing my regular pants with the band. Since it is summer I spend most of the time in comfortable skirts. I also bought a bunch of longer tanks and tshirts to cover the band. I think I am going to have to start wearing maternity pants soon though.

I would definitely go out and wear pants for work. If I were working right now I would have to buy new clothes.

i wouls say right after my 12 week mark somewhere between 12-15 weeks. i think i was able to use my sweaters a little longer bc that was in february. but pants i needed around than.. i found them to be so much more comfy and easier to wear

I am almost 13 weeks and I go back and forth between. I have a pair of maternity shorts that I love and capris from old navy and motherhood. They are so comfortable. As for tops I have bought some shirts from old navy that are empire waist and they seem to work for now. I have maternity tops but they are way to big and I look silly. I would go with whatever you feel comfortable it.

I am 17 weeks and I still have 1-2 pairs of non maternity pants that fit but they arent super comfy anymore. This week has been my first week in 90% maternity. Before that I was mixing and matching. But have been wearing maternity since about 14 weeks on a nd off.

I quit smoking @ 3 months before I got PG, so I had put on some weight. However, most of my pants fit with the extra weight. By the time I hit 8 weeks I had to dig out my size 12's from storage b/c my thighs got HUGE. I bought my first pair of maternity pants at 10 weeks, and then bought two pairs the following weekend. Right now at 18 weeks the only pants I wear that are not maternity are size 14 with drawstring elastic waist.

I wear regular shirts with drawstring pants, and maternity shirts w/ maternity pants.

I'm also thinking it's July...anything I buy now I'm NOT going to be wearing in November anyway because it's hot now.

I really wanted to make it through the summer without going into maternity at all, but my regular clothes are so fitted in the waist making them really uncomfortable. I found out I was preggo before I did any real summer shopping so I don't have many babydoll styles that would have carried me through the summer.

I started 20 weeks today, and I would say exclusive maternity clothing is in my very near future! I wear it most of the time now, but there are a few things I can still squeeze into.

Though the skirt I'm wearing today (nonmaternity) will not be worn again--too tight! My shirts may last a little longer, but I think their days are numbered too.
