When do babies start to sleep 10-12 hrs?
I know I have a while since DD is only 9 weeks, but when do babies start to sleep 10-12 hours and how does it happen? For the most part she has been sleeping 5-6 hrs with a few 7 hour nights and last night she slept 8 hrs
I am so clueless as to when I should expect her to do certain things. Will she start extending her stretches? If so, do I have to start putting her down earlier so she doesn't go to bed at 11 and sleep to 11?
And do most babies sleep this long? My mom said she doesn't remember me sleeping this long but I don't think she remembers all of the details of my infancy.

I'm still waiting sister!!!
Halfway kidding...Noah usually sleeps around 10 hours a night...but man, we didn't get to that point until quite recently.

Same here. She sounds like she is a good baby Juliet. She's already a good sleeper  My DD was the same.

At 1 year DD has NEVER slept more than a 4 - 5 hour stretch

Emma is 4 weeks and will go for 5-6 hours, as long as she's fed right before I put her down, so you're not totally alone.

I don't think there is a set age. At think point I'd count your blessing with the 5-6 hours. I feell like for me a lot of the magic happened around 6-7 months and just got better from there. Better naps, longer naps, easier bedtime, longer bedtime. But she may surprise you and start that earlier. I do believe in sleep begets sleep so I think if you can get her napping well her nighttime sleep will also be well.

My daughter started at 21 months to sleep up to 10.5 hours, we've never seen 12.

Ella started at 5 months. Now at 9 months, she's going to bed earlier and sleeping later. We're seeing a good 12-13 hours here (she's in bed 7-7:30, and sleeps until 8-9am)

It took Jacob until one year old to sleep 10-12 hrs. I would say you have a great little baby if she is sleeping 6/7/8 hrs at 9 weeks old.
Every baby is different but for my next one there will def be CIO implemented at 5 months old. I'm not standing for another full year of not sleeping thru the night. Good luck!

Okay, so I am hopefully coming up to longer stretches.
My mom asked what I would do if DD slept for 12 hours. I told her I would exercise, clean, iron and maybe watch TV with DH for a change
