I did mine when I came home from the hospital. If u want them done b4, have your mom or DH do it while you're in the hospital.

I boiled the bottle parts the week before my due date and then put the nipples in a ziplock bag and the bottles in the cabinet. But I use the Playtex drop ins so the box of liners wasn't opened until the baby came home, so they were sterile.

I did them when I got home. I would suggest only doing a few b/c the baby may not like the kind of bottle and then atleast you can return the unopened ones for different ones. The first two days I was home I used the premade little bottles that I took from the hospital

Re: When do I sterilize the bottles?

My mom did mine while I was in the hospital. You really are only sterlizing them to get any chemical residue off since they don't come from the factory sterlized. Then it's fine to put them in your cupboard and save them until you are ready to use them. Same with paci's.

I agree with this too.

Confirm with your hospital but we took so many of the premade bottles home with us - it lasted us a few days, that will give you plenty of time at home to sterilize a few. I wouldn't feel like they were "sterile" if I did it too soon.
