When do you get your new registration sticker in the mail?

Please excuse me if I get terms wrong...

My registration sticker on my car expired at the end of Sept. I went to get the inspection a week before that and passed.

So it's been over a month now and I haven't received a new sticker in the mail yet? When will I get one? I'm starting to get nervous about being more than a month behind.

You need to contact DMV to see what's up with your registration. They normally send you a renewal in the mail prior to the expiration - if it expired in September, you should have gotten it in July sometime.

The inspection won't kick out a registration renewal. You should get a new inspection sticker the day you pass.

That seems like a long time. DH just did his online and he had his within a week or a week and a half.

Did you mail it in or did you fill it out online?

I'm confused, your car passed inspection, but did you fill out the paperwork for a new registration as well? Just because it was inspected doesn't mean that you get the registration.

You can go online and do it. We got ours within a week when we did that.

Passing inspection doesn't = automatically getting a new registration.

They are 2 different things and have their own fees.

If you got your inspection, they give you the new sticker that day. But you don't mention in your post about filling out and sending the form for the registration or paying for it online.

So if you didn't do that and assumed the inspection would also supply you with a registration from the DMV--that would be the problem in why you haven't gotten it, and you must go to the DMV website to get the information to renew.

If you did do this then I would contact the DMV again and find out whats going on with it.

My DH just had to renew his registration. NYS sent us the renewal paperwork in the mail in September. We paid for it online, and got the registration in the mail in about a week.

FYI....the registration renewal fee was $139.

yeah it was the sticker on the car, and i guess they just put a new one on. i swear it still said 2010, but DH just came home, so I asked him about it and we checked... Still not used to the way NY does things! TY for the help!
