When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
I met someone last night that said her daughter was 28 months. Couldn't she have just said 2 1/2? When do you stop saying your baby's age in months?

Re: When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
i am not there yet but i would assume that once my dd is year i will say "oh she turned a year in september" .Assumng the question is asked shortly after her bitrthday. After that i will probobly say she is 1 1/2 years or she will be 1 1/2 years in March or she will be two in September. i think people can do the math LOL

I would think after 2 years, it is no longer necessary.

Re: When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
I stopped when Michael was 2. A lot of people do it so that it doesn't seem like they are growing up so fast. When he was 25/26 months, I still said months, but now I say he's almost 2.5.

Re: When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
I imagine I'll stop when she is a little over 18 months. For example, I can't picture myself saying "She is 22 months". I'll probably just say she'll be 2 in April. After that, it will just be by year (maybe I'll add the 1/2 when appropriate).

I started around 2. I either say he is 2 or he turned 2 in February.

Re: When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
I met a couple out shopping for their grandkids and they told me the kids were 32 and 46 months. I was thinking to myself why didn't they just say 3 and 4 years old

Re: When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
I think somewhere between 18 months and 2 years. After 2, half-years are OK for a while. Probably throughout school. 12 1/2 is still OK to say.

Re: When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
I'm stopping after he turns 2. I've already started saying "he'll be 2 in July" instead of 22 months (which he turned yesterday )

Re: When do you stop saying baby's age in months?
I asked this question to one of the children's librarians in the library where I work and she said 3 years is usually when most people stop.
She explained that there are a lot of developmental milestone each month and that is why we use months and not years until they reach a certain age.

But the problem is, that most adults haven't reached the milestone where they can do simple math....
"Uh.... 30 months, so he's 3?, no, wait... how many months in a year? 10, right? no, 12, yeah, so that makes 30 divided by 12 is....... Sorry, that's my cell phone, gotta go!"

At a year.
Then they're"
- a little over a year - a year & a half - they'll be 2 in a few months - They're 2.

Two....someone once told me their little girl was 32 months. I was like...what the heck is that?? Why do I have to do math to figure out how old your child is?
