Jack really just started having three meals a day - he is six months. I sometimes leave out dinner if I'm too lazy.
He gets about 24 ounces a day also.

I started 3 meals with Ella about 7-8 months old. She drinks about 24 ounces of formula a day.

I started Bella with 3 meals at 6.5 months. Sometimes she might not get one of the 3 here or there.

Re: when do you think a baby should have 3 meals?
i started kind of early b/c DD is pretty tiny and wasn't gaining that much weight between DR visits. so i would say she's had 3 meals since right before she turned 6 months.

Re: when do you think a baby should have 3 meals?
yikes, i'm in trouble! ds is almost 8 months and he barely eats 1 stage 2 jar a day! i give him 1/2 for breakfast and 1/2 at dinner. he nurses 4 times a day and with our schedule i can't fit in another meal.
here's our schedule:
5:30 am- nurse and back to bed 930-10 am- wake up 10- 1/2 stage 2 and maybe 1 oz. formula sippy cup 12-nurse then 2 hr. nap 2-wake up from nap 4-nurse 5- nap for 2 hrs. 7- 1/2 stage 2 and maybe 1 oz. formula sippy cup 10-nurse than bed
where do i squeeze in a 3rd meal???
thanks!

ya, he naps great! but he is an aweful night sleeper. he wakes up so many times through out the night that i think he needs those naps. i don't think he's hungry at all. i even recently dropped a nursing session b/c he didn't seem like he needed it. he can go 5+ hours without wanting to eat and when i feed him every 2 hours he is so stuffed he refuses food.
he has 1/2 jar with 1 tablespoon cereal (he won't eat more) and 1/2 jar with a meat. i practically have to force him to eat so much.
is it really bad to stick with only 2 meals for a while longer? maybe till he was 9 months?
