when does everyone ovulate?

I've heard that most people Ov on the 14th day after the first heavy day of their period. I just got off the pill after 9 years, so I'm not even sure when I'll Ov.
When has everyone figured out their time to be? I just got over my period and in a perfect world, I would love to get pregnant this month.

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

You can ovulate at any time. It can change every month due to a lot of factors. Actually most women DO NOT ovulate on cd14. That is a myth, and unfortunately a lot of ob/gyn's still go by that myth, it's scary.

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

Before I started having medicated cycles I ovulated most of the time on CD 17..now I usually ovulate on the 13/14th day.

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

I ovulate between day 13-16, but before I started seeing an RE my gyno had recommended bding on day 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 to cover all the bases.

You should start charting to get a better idea of your cycles.

Good luck and baby dust to you!

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

I usually get my OPK surge around CD 20, so I guess between CD 20 and 24.

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

Before clomid I was surging at CD18 - 21. Since clomid I've surged around CD16-17.

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

I always thought I was O'ing the 14th day as well...but now with my monitor...I see it was the 12th day this month.

Have you thought about O sticks?

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

We're not really actively trying enough that I would chart things quite yet. I would love to get pregnant ASAP, but I think we'll just wing it for a couple of months before I start charting or taking my temp.
I was just curious about people's schedules.

The one regret I have is not charting sooner. The best advice I would give to any person who is thinking about conceiving, but not yet trying, would be to chart ...and of course get a physical. It's so simple, and takes less time than brushing your teeth lol

Ironically, someone told me, when I first started 'ttc', "oh don't chart, your temps, it's stressful" LOL I think back and laugh because, not "charting' is stressful.

I agree - my early charts (pre-TTC) were what told me I wasn't ovulating correctly and allowed me to have some information to go to the doctor at the 6 month mark instead of waiting a whole year to get help.

While I do find it stressful because of my schedule (Some days I have to be at work at 7 and some days not until 9) I still try to stick with it as best I can and I'm glad I got in the habit early on.

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

I can't agree with Redstar more. It is so simple to do and puts your mind at ease. It will help you develop a pattern of your cycle and your chart alone, can tell so much about your body and what is going on with it. Good luck!

This is very helpful! I was under the impression that it happened from 13-16 for everyone. I think I'm going to start charting!

Re: when does everyone ovulate?

when my cycles were normal, 28-30 days long, I would ovulate between day 14 and day 18. When I got pregnant in August, I ovulated on CD26. So it really depends each month.
