When does your Insur. Co.

find out you got a ticket? If you plan on fighting it do they find out after the court date or before? TIA

They don't find out until after you fight the ticket.

sometimes they don't find out at all until they just happen to run your license again.

Tickets don't even matter to some companies, once you're already "in". (unless it was a major violation, like DUI or oper w/o a license, etc.) State Farm Mutual is like that...

Ironically, this person just completed the Def.Driving course and now I'm worried about submitting the paper work to the insur. co. because I don't want them to see the ticket....

I work for an insurance co, each campanies rules are a little different, we wouldnt see the ticket until we ran off your license, so companies run there every 6months, some run then every year or 2 years. Most companies run then off when about 30 days b4 your renewal


When was the ticket and when does the policy renew.


Also the ticket wont hit your driving record until you pay it or down grade it to something else

Thats how my company is. They never saw any of my tickets I got. I think if it's a big one like DUI or DWI they have to notify the insurance company.
