I think I did 2 1/2 Tablespoons and an ounce of formula.

I just made it a nice consistency. I don't like anything too watery - but it obviously wasn't that lumpy either. HTH!

We are on our second week of cereal. I started with a 1 tsp cereal and 4 tsp breast milk. Each day I added one tsp cereal until the ratio was 1:1

Now DD is eating 2 Tbsp of oatmeal with 2 Tbsp of BM (2 Tbsp = 1 oz of BM) for breakfast. In the mid afternoon she eats 2 Tbsp of rice cereal with 2 Tbsp of BM.

We'll be adding Barley this weekend in the same 1:1 ratio. Then on to veggies! I can't wait.

We started oatmeal this week. The ped told us to make it "soupy". Right now we are at 1tbsp of oatmeal and about 2 to 2 1/2 tbsp of EBM. She isn't liking it very much though.

The first time, I made it VERY liquidy. That didn't make for very good pictures Chat Icon So the second time, I made it a little thicker! He loved it both ways and I got very cute pics! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

same here. First time i didn't it way too liquidy. He barely ate it. A few tries later i found out he:
1. doesn't like rice cereal LOL

2. likes his cereal thicker.

I even will add a fruit to the cereal

My ped said to make it the consistency of applesauce, which I found to be about 1 TBSP of cereal to 1 oz. formula (for rice cereal, oatmeal is a little different!).

I had followed the box, it said for first time using put 1tbls of cereal with 4-5 tbls of formula or breast milk. We had only tried it once b/c she had a reaction. but it wasnt thick that way.

I make it "apple saucy". I put 2 tablespoons of oatmeal or cereal with about 5 to 6 tablespoons of formula. I like it (and so does DS) kind of thickish...its hard to feed them when its so soupy.
