When getting something installed in your house...

does anyone else not know what to do with themselves? 2 guys are here now installing my new front door and screen door (Chat Icon ) and I am upstairs hoping they leave soon so I can get back to my daily life! I periodically walk down there and pretend to get or do something... its so funny! Chat Icon

I don't watch what they are doing, but I do check in every 15 minutes. Usually I'll watch TV or go on the internet

OMG, I could never watch them... I mean there is nothing down there for them to take and I do walk down occasionally. I would feel weird watching them do their job.

I don't trust anyone to do the work without me there. I ask questions and ask about their experience..past jobs..

they probably hate me but I don't care. I am never out of sight when there are workers in my home.

unless i have a question, i pretty much stay out of their way. if i trust them enough to complete a job then i also trust that i don't have to supervise them when doing so.

i.e. i had about 4 guys at my house last week for various projects. granted some were friends and others i have used previously but i trusted them all enough to leave my door unlocked when they 1st arrived and return home about 2 hrs after they all had been there.

IMO, i would NEVER hire someone that i did not know or didn't come highly recommended.

Me too. It let's them know I'm on top of things and they are less likely to cut corners.
