when is a puppy not considered a puppy anymore?

hershey just turned 1 last month & we are still feeding him puppy food.... im wondering when we should switch to adult food?

is this something that is a clear cut answer or should we talk to our vet?

I have heard that I should stop giving kittens the Kitten food after they turn 1 year old.
I think it's the same for dogs.

The bag of food should tell you... the Kitten Chow always said for kittens 0-1 year old...

Kasey was about 9 months old when we asked the vet if we could switch her to adult food and they said it was ok. I'd ask your vet to be sure but you could prob do it now. When you do make the switch, gradually decrease the puppy food and increase the adult dog food with each feeding so it phases into your dog's system.

My vet practically yelled at me when Jeter turned one and we were still giving him puppy food. Apparently it has a lot more calories than regular dog food and you should only feed it to them when they're young. Who knew!

i just bought a HUUUGE bag of puppy food today lol so i think i will talk to the vet when the bag is almost done and see what she says, but im sure she'll want us to switch to adult food

After my dog turned one and he finished his puppy food we switched. We used to mix the puppy dry food with the new dry food. We noticed he stopped eating the wet food when we incorporated the Adult dry food. He turned 1 in Nov and completely switched by Dec.

We are stopping at 1yr. maybe sooner. I don't want my little guy to get fat.
