Hannah is 14 weeks and prefers to sleep on her belly. I let her do it for naps when I'm watching, but no other time.

When is it considered safe for her to sleep on her belly in the crib at night?

I think the SIDS risk is greatest up to 6 months, but lasts up to a year. I would skip the belly sleeping if I were you.

I "think" its when they can roll over. Ava hasn't rolled yet but has been a belly sleeper since 4 weeks old. She squirms al over the crib though and wakws up with her head in the corner every morning but always turns her head to have good breathing room.

ETA: My baby book said the risk of sids decreases dramatically after 4 months, mainly due to being able to roll over.

Ped told me that as soon as they can roll over then it is ok.

I had no choice. As soon as Andrew learned to turn over he always slept on his belly.

That is why I bought the Angelcare Monitor.

I was told my PEd that belly sleeping is okay if the baby does it herself, like rolling onto her belly in the middle of the night to sleep.
As long as they have good head control and got into the position themselves, PEd said just to keep and eye out, but there's no reason to go in there and flip her, but he did rec taking the bumpers out.
