When is it too late to switch doctors?
I am 21 weeks and just not happy with my dr. or the hospital he is affiliated with. Is it too late to make the switch?

Re: When is it too late to switch doctors?
I would say, if you are in the hospital delivering your DC, then it is too late Otherwise, you need to be comfortable with the doctor

What happened with all of your info? Since I get my sonos at the hospital that this dr. is affiliated with, I am afraid things will get mixed up. I was told I have a short cervix at my last sono on Friday and my Dr. is not even back from vacation until late August!!!

All you need to do is calll the hospital and tell them you need your records. Legally they have to give them to you. Same with Dr. I have a great Dr in Smithtown that I recommended to another poster-not sure where you live

Re: When is it too late to switch doctors?
I would say switch doctors if you are not happy with both the doc and the hospital that you would be delivering at. It'd not to late at all. It is important that you feel totally comfortable with the doc and hospital. You shouldn't have to go through your whole pregnancy feeling as if you are not getting the care and attention that you and your baby deserve. This is a very important time in your life, and getting the best care will make you feel confidant that you and baby are in good hands. Maybe look into doctors that friends or family have used and are happy with. I never hesitate to change docs when I am unhappy with them! Don't stay with a doc you aren't happy with, it's not worth it in the end. Good luck to you and your baby!

Re: When is it too late to switch doctors?
I switched at around 21 weeks after a negative exp. with my doc and hospital when I was preggo w. DS. Best decision I ever made, I had no problems at all. Just had my file sent over to my new doc and they handled the rest.

Re: When is it too late to switch doctors?
I switched at nearly 36 weeks. My new OB and hospital have me very at ease. I thought my new doc and his staff would see me as some sort of neurotic, high-maintenance patient, but that has not happened.
If you are not comfortable, switch. You are your little one deserve the best.
