When is the earliest a pool can be built inground?
We finally are having our in ground pool installed after fighting for a variance last year on specifics we want for the pool. We are the first installation of the season now that all permits are in place. For those who had theirs built in the beginning of the year, when was the dig? I want to be done before Memorial Day so we are eager to begin though I know it depends on ground temperature. Takes? I'm thinking absolute earliest end of March?

Ask your builder. We started our install last year Memorial Day weekend and we were swimming at the end of June. It was about four weeks total but it depends on the type of pool, if they hit the water table, your lining.
I must say as much as a pain it was and expensive, we are in the pool every day in the summer!

Meaghan I can't wait! I may send you FM within the next month or so since we used the same company. We will have to dewater. They told us as long as the ground isn't frozen, we will be the first since we were last years contracted pool that didn't get installed.
i just wanted to get started ASAP. They said being done by Memorial Day shouldn't be a problem assuming the ground thaws by some time in April (quite possibly earlier depending on temps) and that the weather cooperates. (I'm sure it will rain plenty between April and May...) I'm going to give them a call. It's definitely too early now.

I would think once the night temps. get higher. If you are doing cement walls then it needs to be warmer because it won't cure properly.
I would think that they could probably start mid March and probably be done by end of April beginning of May depending on how much rain we get and how slow the town is with inspections. I know for us, (we installed this past August), we lost a lot of days just waiting for the inspections. I live in NJ and inspection times are 9-2 so you need to be home for that time frame. It was annoying because they could be here at 9, it passes but you loose another day because nothing else is scheduled. It took us about 6-7 weeks for them to install the pool.

Our company said as early as mid march . We have had so many issues with the town to get this thing approved. Yes, the pool is cement. DH and I swear that when we excavate they are going to find some sacred burial ground. God help us. Send some good vibes out way
