Not everyone has one...in fact, you will probably only have one if the doctor thinks the baby is too big or too small
My belly was measuring 3 weeks ahead of schedule so I am having a growth sono next thursday, I will be 37 weeks, 2 days

it's not standard to get one....I did not have one with DD and she was 7 lbs 10 oz.

I had one done at 31 weeks my first pregnancy
then again 2 times after my DD with the NST and biophysical (so not sure if that was technically a growth sono?)

I had to go for regular growth sonos because the cord is going into the placenta weird... like everyone else said, I don't think its procedure to go for one unless they are seeing something unusual...

So, how did your doctor know about the cord then... there must have been a previous sonogram to show that, right? I am a little confused because I haven't had a sonogram since 19 weeks, and it doesn't look like I am having another one at all... but how does the doctor not know if there's a problem like that without doing one?!?!

They find these types of things at the level II (probably the one you had at 19 weeks)
If you are concerned, talk to your doctor
