When mailing a holiday card or any kind of card do you face it front side up or front side down when inserting it in the envelope?
seriously I was told there was a certain etiquette(?) when sending out cards.
So do you insert your cards face up when placing them in the envelope or face them down back of card facing person when they open it where they would have to turn them around when they pull it out.

front side up, with the folded edge on top... don't know if there's a 'proper' way to do it or not.... that's just how I always do it

I had no idea there was etiquette involved. I do front of the card facing the flap, fold side up, meaning you grab the "closed end" of the card when you pull it out of the envelope.

See, the me who overthinks everything does put the open end up when enclosing something like a gift card, check, or cash b/c I'm afraid it'll fall out of the envelope.
Otherwise, I do it this way.

Me too. I slit the envelope across the top, so I don't notice how other people put it in, though...

I do it so the front of the card is where you open it from the back of the envelope - not where you address it.
