When people ask your due date...

What do you tell people when they ask your due date. My actual due date (40 weeks) is Jan 20th but my doctor said they induce if you dont go into labor by 38 weeks which would mean I'll be having my little ones by Jan. 6th. So when people ask do you tell them your due date(at 40 weeks) or do you go by another date so you dont have to explain?

Re: When people ask your due date...

I always said "My due date is August 20 but twins usually come earlier" or "My due date is August 20 but I am having a scheduled c-section a week or two before that"

I always said "My due date is November 12 but my dr. thinks it will be sometime in October" And then they actually showed up on Sept. 7! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: When people ask your due date...

Now i just give them my scheduled C-section date which is at 38 weeks, 1/13. Prior to having the date i would say "my actual due date was 1/27 but my Dr. won't let me pass 38 weeks".

Re: When people ask your due date...

I said 12/8 (38 weeks) when people asked, although my true due date was 12/22. They ended up coming on 11/24.

Re: When people ask your due date...

I would answer "my dd is July 7, but with twins full term is 37 weeks so I'll probably go around the third week in June, around Fathers Day"

I delivered June 18- two days before Fathers Day!!

A c-section date was never given to me, my doctor rarely discussed it, he thought I was going to deliver on my own, which I did and with another doctor in the group, not my OBGYN, turns out, I feel in love with the doctor that delivered my girls.

This is what I always said also. It got kind of annoying and long-winded after a while, but it was the only way to really answer the question.
