when should I do the ovulation test?
Since I have been feeling broke, I bought 5 ovulation sticks at the Dollar Tree I know, I'm being cheap. Anyway, I do not want to waste any & was wondering when I should start testing. I am on Day 14 of my cycle. Since going off the pill in May, here is how my cycles have been:
42 days 38 days 37 days 26 days 34 days 37 days
As you can tell, except for one, I have had very long cycles. I was thinking of testing on Day 18 or 20. We have been BD-ing every other night since this past Sunday (Day 10).
Any help is greatly appreciated...

Re: when should I do the ovulation test?
I have been all over the place with the OPK's so I decided to buy the clear blue easy ovulation monitor and last night I finally got a positive and it was supposedly peak fertility. It's a pain to program in my opinion b/c i don't like to read directions but hopefully the positive opk will help me with a positive hpt. Since you have such long cycles I would start testing starting at least CD 12. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thanks - how does that kit you have work? Can you use it again each month? Sorry if that is a clueless question, but I am clueless

Re: when should I do the ovulation test?
Not a clueless question at all. Yes you can use it from month to month. It's a lot of $$ and you need AAA batteries and buy the Clear blue easy ovulation test sticks separately. Not a cheap investment but I guess if you want an exact read on your O day that's probably the way to go.

Re: when should I do the ovulation test?
I buy my O and PG tests via this site. No frills - but super cheap and they work.
CHEAP TESTS
My cycle has been wacky since going off the pill. Even though I ovulate late, I usually start testing around CD12 just in case it changes!

I probably should start now, I am on day 15 - even though I know I probably won't ovulate until day 20 or higher. Thanks for the info on the tests!!!

Re: when should I do the ovulation test?
I am with you with the long cycles. I use abut 14 OPKs per month. I was thinking about buying this to predict ovulation. It is $24.99 and can be used over and over. Fertile Focus Ovulation Microscope

Hmmm...wonder how accurate that is. I still have not used a test - decided to wait until tomorrow, day 17. I only have 5 tests, so hopefully I can get a reading by then. Otherwise, out to buy more! Thanks for the lead, I might consider that as well.
