if you use the dishwasher do you put nipples and everything in. Can you put pacifers in dishwasher as well. I have the Dr. Brown bottles and dont know where to begin. I didnt get the basket thingy yet should i wait for that?

I washed/sterilized everything, let it air dry and then put it away in the cabinet.

Binkies I put into a plastic sealed Ziploc.

You have to keep in mind that once an item comes out of the boiling water or sterilizer (depending on what method of sterilization you are using) the item is NO LONGER sterile. It won't be b/c there isn't anything protecting it from the non sterile air that it meets as soon as you take it out of the sterile environment.

KWIM?

Her toys I cleaned with a non-toxic cleaner (I use the Method brand) and then I either wipe down with a Lysol disinfecting wipe, or I spray everything down with Clorox daily disinfecting spray. I use that method still to this day.

I didn't do the dishwasher to sterilize the first time around.... I just felt better putting it into the boiling water after I hand washed everything....

Something about seeing the soap and then the steaming water made me feel better....

I'm a wierdo tho! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think the binkies and nipples are suppose to be boiled and only the bottles can be put in a dishwasher.

I plan to do all this tomorrow, as it seems like I am carrying a ticking clock! Chat Icon

Nope - everything can go in the dishwasher.... It's just if you want it to or not.

In the very beginning, I NEVER put her stuff in the dishwasher. It was only until recently that I handwashed everything all the time.

I think when she hit around 11 months old was when I started using the dishwasher.
