When switching pediatricians...
Do I need to tell my current pediatrician to transfer all the documents over or do I take them to the new pediatrician?

They will send them over for you if you ask but I would pick them up and hand deliver them yourself. i had such a problem when I tried to transfer Ava's records...Finally, I just picked them up myself. Good luck!

I switched recently and was told they can send it to the new docter otherwise I would have to pay for each page of records if given to me...

I SWITCHED ALSO AND THE NEW DOCTOR HAD ME COME IN AND SIGN A RELEASE OF RECORDS AND THEY FAXED OVER THE REQUEST FOR ME. I DIDNT HAVE TO BE BOTHERED GOING IN THE OLD DR OFFICE

We are in the process of switching Dr.'s too and I had to pay .75 a page fora copy of my DD medical records.

Its a HIPPA rule. That is the max they can charge you, they don't have to, but they can.
When we moved, we had only been to the ped once, but DH had to go pick up one piece of paper, and sign the HIPPA authorization, they wouldn't fax it to my new doctor
