When was your DC able to put their pacifier in by themselves?

I have seen people say that they put like 5 or 6 pacis in the crib, so their DC's can find them. When are they able to do this?

FINALLY at 6 months. But she had to be able to reach them so we would just put a ton all around her

They will take them out of their mouths and then put them back in. I have seen DS trying to get his paci when he is in the crib, but usually knocks it out instead.

I was wondering this too Randi. I was watching Samantha yesterday on the moniter, she took the paci out of her mouth and was playing with it, but I don't think she "got" that she could put it back in her mouth. She also doesn't take the paci enough to make the connection I don't think. The only time she really gets the paci is when I'm putting her in the car seat and she starts to cry, other than that, it's extreamly rare she even has it in her crib or anywhere else for that matter.

Re: When was your DC able to put their pacifier in by themselves?

My DS has been doing it since 5 months, taking it out & putting it back, but this is when he is awake & playing. He can not do it at night on his own. If he wakes up without it he will fuss & then evertually cry until I go in & give it to him. I don't think he knows to look for it on his own when he wakes up in the middle of the night.
