when will you spill the beans about your BFP???

when you get your BFP, when are you planning to tell your parents?? and other family? and friends?
I know that I will definitely not be able to contain myself for too long before telling my mother; she doesn't know we are ttc, but I know I would have to tell her when we are pregnant very early in the game...maybe after the first dr.s appt........
But what about other family, relatives and friends? I'm torn about all this. What are you ladies planning on doing??

I want to try and wait until 9-12 weeks - but not sure that I'll be able to keep it a secret for that long. None of our family knows we are TTC, so it will be a big surprise for them, especially on my side since it will be the 1st grandchild.

no one knows we are ttc either. in theory i want to tell my mom and cousin (my best friend) right away..but i KNOW neither of them can keep a secret. my mom lives with my grandma and my grandma will tell EVERYONE before i get a chance to. i cant picture my mom being able to keep the secret from my grandma...so im really torn cause i do totally want to tell my mom as soon as it happens..

so to answer your question - i have NO idea lol! i guess we will just figure it out when the time comes.

Under typical circumstances (and how I've handled it in the past...), I'd tell my parents/siblings right away; then I'd tell my friends/other family after the 8 week doctor appt.

However, I had a miscarriage this year and two of my friends have been "cycle stalkers" ever since , so I'd pretty much have to tell them right away too; otherwise, I'd handle it the same way.

Well I always said I was going to wait and surprise our parents/family until we saw the heartbeat and i had a sono to show them. I got a BFP back in Jan. and that went RIGHT out the window. I called them up at almost 12am as soon as i saw another line lol I woke everyone up

Then I miscarried and was so sad b/c I still had people coming up to me (for weeks and weeks later) asking me about the baby, hw I was feeling etc. I really hurt

So this time around the only ones that will know are DH and I . We will tell everyone after we see/hear everything that we;re supposed to

We will tell our parents/siblings right away as well as a few select friends. Everyone else probably after 10 weeks or so.

I would ideally like to to tell my parents right after we get confirmation from the doctor that we are in fact PG...As for friends I would like to wait till we heard the heartbeat, but I doubt I could get away with waiting that long. My friends and I tend to party a bit..and there is no way I could get by that long with out them noticing me not having anything to drink...they are all stalking me and my husband anyway about it!

I've thought about this a little bit and ideally I would want to wait until as close to 12 weeks as possible. I would love to tell my mom right away, but I KNOW she would tell my aunt (her twin) and then just everyone would know. Each time my cousin got pregnant, she would ask my aunt to keep it hush hush until she was ready to make the announcement (especially since her 1st pregnancy ended in miscarriage), but my aunt always told my mom and my mom told me... so I know it would be the other way around too! lol

Parents and siblings as soon as it is confined by the dr. Friends and the rest of the fam at 12 weeks.

Probably parents immediately. Siblings/best friends after first sono. Everyone else 12 weeks.

I'll tell my parents/siblings right away and 2 of my best friends. The next group of close friends I'll wait until after the 7-8 week appt and hear the heartbeat. Everyone else after 12 weeks.

I've always heard at least 3 months for extended family and friends but my parents and sister are numbers 2 and 3 on my call list (after DH of course). I told DH that if he doesn't pick up his phone when I call him about a BFP, I'm skipping over him to call my sister.

I told DH he could tell his dad about it but no way in hell should he tell his sister, who has a big fat mouth.

I've been pretty open about us "officially" trying after school ends, so although I would like to wait 8-10 weeks, friends and family will be watching me like a hawk. Especially, since its BBQ season and I usually always have a drink.
