when would a reaction to the chicken pox vaccine show up?
DS is probably getting his chicken pox vaccine at his 15 month appt.
3 hours later i'm hosting a baby shower for my cousin at my house. i'm just wondering how fast a reaction could be to the shot and if i have to worry about him at all that day.
he's never had a reaction to a vaccine before so i have nothing to go by.

My DS had a reaction a few days later - can't remember how many days though but, I posted about it so if you search I'm sure you can find it. I think you'll be fine 3 hrs later!

Just a separate thought...make sure your cousin is immune to the chicken pox, otherwise she shouldn't be around your DS because it's a live vaccine. DS's ped double-checked with me that I was immune before giving it to DS when I was pregnant.

She should check with her OB. The blood panel they do when you first find out you're pregnant usually includes a check for immunity to the chicken pox. I had it as a child, but my OB double checked my initial bloodwork just to be safe before DS got his chicken pox vaccine. I'm sure everything is fine, but it's always good to check
