When would you pick c-section date?
I'm due Dec. 3, but will be having a 3rd c-section anywhere from 10 days prior to that date which falls right around Thanksgiving. We haven't told my MIL yet, but would love for her to be there when my DH walks out of the operating room to announce the sex since she has never been there at that moment, she always came a couple of days later. And considering this is our last baby, I thought it would be nice to have her there.
I wanted to have the date the day after Thanksgiving and celebrate T-Day the day before we go to the hospital. Well, my DH found out that his mom has all sorts of plans around Thanksgiving already. I believe she is going to be going to NY (she lives in MD) for Tday so how could she be here in NC?  Would you wait until that weekend to have a c-section to try to get her to come for it? WDYT? Thanks!

are her plans definite for turkey day or she is just thinking about it at this point?
If they are not definite, I would talk to her and try to do the day after thanksgiving- she can go to NY next year

I would try and pick a bday for the baby that wasnt right b4 or right after thanksgiving since its a major holiday and just tell your mil what day it is, if she makes it great, if she doesn't at least you told her. You should trump any plans she might have!

Just so you know. Some hospitals are not allowing scheduled C-sections to be booked before teh 39th week.
Unless there is a medical reason of why you must go early.
I would try to keep the baby in as long as you can regardless of the holiday.

I'm in NC so it's allowed up to 10 days before due date. With my 1st son, I went into labor the night before my scheduled c-section which was 5 days before my due date w/knowing there was no way I could deliver vaginally so to make sure I didn't go into labor before scheduled c-setion the second time around it was scheduled 10 days before due date. This is the earliest my Dr will allow it. So, I'm not sure with this PG, how soon my Dr will want to do the c-section this time, but most likely as close to the 10 days before just so I don't go into labor before again since it's unnecessary pain and stress on me and the baby.

I would schedule what is best for you and then hope she can make it. Also, my doc only schedules c/sections for certain days of the week-Mon, Tues and Fri. She def doesn't do scheduled ones on the weekend, especially a holiday one. So that's something to check into as well.
