When you cater a party do you let people bring food too if they want ?

A few people have offered to make various dishes for the chrIstening and DH wants me to tell them no.
I didn't ask anyone and I think it is nice of them to do it.

What do you think?

Whenever I have a party that's catered my family always makes a few dishes. My aunt makes a delicious salad, so she always makes that. My mom makes a few sides to go along with what I'm ordering. My other aunts have made things too. I don't see any reason to tell them not to....I always like to have a bigger selection!

save yourself a couple of bucks on one less tray or a side or salad...I say def...Like PP my mom or aunt has always made something for my parties and I cater some and I make some...to cut the cost down a little!

Everyone always ends up bringing something. Due to having sooo many parties in the past 3 years, we noticed the same people bring the same dishes....so we just don't order those things from the caterer. Saves us money, and makes everyone happy.

Personally, if they want to bring something, I wouldn't see any issue with it. The more food, the better IMO!
