When your hospital bag is packed...

where do you keep it? Inside your house?

Or do you have it in your car?

I work just a few minutes from the hospital...so I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to have it in the car.

What did you do? TIA!Chat Icon

i kept it in the house - since it's SO darn hot - i didn't want things like my toothpaste, shampoos, etc to explode....just a risk i didn't want to take (would it matter in the long run? NO - but still - just me).

Re: When your hospital bag is packed...

When I worked, I left it in the car. Right now, I have it in my living room.

Re: When your hospital bag is packed...

I'll be keeping it in my house as I will have a few things to add to it before we go.

I've heard of it being kept in the car. But in your case, even though you work close to the hospital, if you go into labor, do you think/plan on laboring at home for as long as you can? Unless your water breaks, you may not go to the hospital for hours until your contractions are 5 minutes apart for an hour (round about providing no complications).

If it's all packed with nothing being added and your car will be what you and DH go in, then keep it in your car.

Re: When your hospital bag is packed...

Ours was in the house. You won't need your bag right away when you get to the hospital so DH can always get it at home if by chance you have to head to the hospital from work. JMO

Re: When your hospital bag is packed...

I will probably keep mine in the car. I plan on working until the very last second, so if anything were to happen while I was at work, I could just head to the hospital and the bag would already be with me. I work closer to the hospital than I do to my house.

Here too...I have my "last minute addition" list like my glasses (i wear contacts whenever I am awake, but want my glasses for labor in case I need to take out my contacts), makeup, hair dryer, etc.
