When your infant is sick and they have no appetite...
Abby is a lil under the weather
She ran a slight fever at day care (under 100) and had not been taking her bottles. What she did take, she spit up (not projectile, rather just what came up from a burp). When I got her home, I called the pediatrician who gave me instructions as to how to keep her nourished until she feels better. It was a big concern to me as she doesn't have a big appetite to begin with. My petite little miss had her Pedialyte as per doc's instructions and wanted no part of her diluted formula concoction. She fell asleep at about 7:30 (give or take) with her last attempt at a feeding having been at 1:45.
Remembering what my dearly departed mother used to say about sleeping babies and not waking them, I'm thinking I should leave her be and if she is hungry, she will wake up on her own and let us know. Im just trying to find a balance between sleep and good nutrition in her healing process.
Any thoughts? Please share your experiences.

My mom gives me the same advice, don't wake a sleeping baby especially at night or when they are sick. I think let her try and "sleep it off" you know.

I feel helpless when she is not well. I mean she gives that pathetic whimper.
In the mean time, I look at this picture and she makes ME happy:
