When you've finished showering... curtain open or closed?

DH and I have this debate about once a year.

I say, when you are done showering, you do your "Scrubbing Bubbles Shower Cleaner" and close the curtain to air it out. If you leave the curtain open, it gets mildewy because its all stuck together like an accordian and mildew can develop in the folds.

He says, post-shower spray, keep the curtain open or else the shower will get mildwey because the steam can't escape.

We keep the curtain open - but that's because one of us hangs our towels over the bar to dry for a few hours while the other towel is hanging over the pegs that we keep them on once dry. Since we have no towel bar storage for the bathroom this is what works for us and I hate a damp towel the next morning.

I haven't found a problem with the liner getting mildewy though. It holds up pretty well actually.

I usually spray the shower down & then just close the curtain (we have glass doors) which remain open. I have had to throw out too many curtains bc they got mildewy from DH leaving it closed while it was wet Chat Icon

spray, then leave it open for a few minutes while you dry off, so the steam can come out.

Then close it so the curtain does not get all full of mildew

after i get out of the shower i leave the curtain open for about 15 minutes but then close it over. I hate the way an open shower curtain looks.

Closed. We have a vent fan so steam really isn't an issue.

We keep our curtain closed, but we also have a fan in our bathroom that takes away the steam.

I leave the curtain open for a little while after I shower. Then I pull it back.

I thought I was the only one ! I feel so much better now.

I'm constantly closing curtain after my husband takes a shower. So annoying.

I dont like the curtain open....IMO makes the bathroom look sloppy.

This is my thought exactly...We have a fan too so we rarely get steam in the bathroom. When we dry off, we leave the curtain open but once we are done in the bathroom, it gets pulled over.

Always close it, 1) so the curtain is flat to air dry, and 2) so no one can see my ugly pepto pink colored tub! Chat Icon

Same for us. And I agree with you. If you leave the curtain open it gets mildewy from being all bunched up.

I close it before I leave the bathroom. It is easier for me to clean the shower/tub than the mildewy curtain.

Same here.
