There is Rocketship Park (minus the rocketship) in Pt. Jeff.
Plus the nice ones in Mt. Sinai!

I haven't been to the ones in Mt. Sinai, but they are on 83.
Rocketship is downtown behind the Harbor Square Mall, I like Rocketship bc there is parking right there!

I think she is coming from Miller Place (correct? I only remember b/c I am from there )
To get to Mario's you take 25A through Port and into Setauket and it is on the right hand side before you REALLY get into Stony Brook. It is in a shopping center with a music store.
Wait, is this park across the street from Mario's or behind it? I now remember one across the street?

Re: Where are the nice parks in Stonybrook, Setauket of Pt. Jeff?
the "pond" near marios is across the street, next to se-port deli... it really isnt very large....there is a small gazebo and a bridge...
as a kid, we always loved going to the duck pond and feeding the ducks in old Stony Brook- that is across from the village- it a pretty large area....
There is also the ponds near the setauket post office by the neighborhood house (not the post office on 25A)
there are no swings or anything in these areas- just nice areas to sit & walk around...

Re: Where are the nice parks in Stonybrook, Setauket of Pt. Jeff?
Heritage Park is the one in Mt. Sinai and it's GREAT! They have a couple or large play structures, swings, baby swings, bathrooms, a walking trail, and a baseball diamond. We went yesterday and it was pretty crowded, but it was fun.

i find the play area for her age is too small and always crowded. We usually go there.
Thanks...I think we will go to the duck pond in Stonybrook.

Re: Where are the nice parks in Stonybrook, Setauket of Pt. Jeff?
the duck pond in stony brook--I believe you can buy duck food at the old mill that is right there or at the deli in the village center. Also, behind the duck pond now are trails you can walk through.
Also, there is Sand street beach right there where you can walk the docks and even walk the small beach.
The park by the small setauket post office and Emma S Clark Library has benches, a stone bridge and trails behind it to walk through too.

The new Village Center in Port Jefferson (by the Harbor) has a park and small playground also.
