we bought my MIL one from BuyDig.com for Christmas - no shipping/tax and it came the next day. They had the best prices around.

just make sure you are buying direct from amazon and not from one of their 3rd party retailers.
lowest price around and free shipping and no tax. best part is that if the price goes down within a month of purchase they will actually refund you the difference. DH got $100 back when our bravia went down in price 29 days after we purchased it.
plus they have white glove service so they deliver it (you schedule delivery directly with a local distributor) and then they unpack it and set it up wherever you want and get rid of the box and what not.
really overall a much better experience than i ever expected.

After a 6 hour search and comparison shop last year, we finally bought ours at Best Buy
They had the best price between Circuit City, Costco, Bjs

We bought ours online through ButterflyPhoto- http://www.butterflyphoto.com
No tax and even with shipping it was cheaper than all the other stores we checked out (Best Buy, CC, online stores, etc.)

The absolute two best places to buy a TV online are amazon.com and frys.com
Just make sure if you are buying from Amazon you are buying directly from them and not a third party seller (like an above poster said).
Fry's is excellent. I bought a TV and I had a problem with it. Not only did they send me out a replacement for free, they PICKED UP my broken TV for free. (always hold onto the TV box for at least three months after buying).
Now THAT's customer service! I would never buy a flat screen from an actual store because it's not worth the price increase.
