Where did you get your front door
We have actually started to look seriously after all this time. This is the next house project.
If you can show a pic that would be great. Also, tell me if it's fiberglass or wood or steel and if you don't mind FM me with $$.
Thanks

Re: Where did you get your front door
Bought a Therma-Tru door at lowes. It's wood exterior with a fiberglass inside I believe.
I used a Lowes 10% off coupon which helped.
I then had an independent contractor stain the door (and sidelites) and had a different contractor install it.

Re: Where did you get your front door
We need to do this too, or at least paint ours. Believe it or not, I'm checking out the Re-store in Ronkonkoma. It's run by Habitat for Humanity, and the last time someone was there that I knew, they said they had a lot of doors.
If you're looking new and fancy, I can't help you there but wish you luck!

I saw the terma-tru "pre-finished" doors that Lowes sells. I almost bought one because they are a lot cheaper.
But when you look at them up close... they look "cheap". The finish on them is kinda blah, I guess it just looks "fake".
Nothing better than a nice wood door that is stained and varnished the right away.

I like wood, but the maintenance is too much. Also, expansion and contraction bothers me as well.

Well you can look at the pre-finished doors at Lowes by ThermaTru. They have a special name for the line, but I can't remember it.
They are cheaper than the unfinished ThermuTru doors that all the resellers carry and you may like them.
Use a 10% movers coupon for monies off (or a 10% home depot coupon and they will honor it).

thanks. I would love a wood door. I just know I wouldn't maintain it.
I saw a few at Home Depot. Wasn't 100% happy with them. Where do I get the coupon?

Home Depot will take the 10% lowes coupon.
The post office change of address packet can work, but the last time I checked it only had the lowes form that you can mail in to get a coupon. There wasn't an actual coupon in there.
They used to stick the coupons in there I believe, but not anymore.

Restore has a TON of doors. I'm thinking of getting one from there for my basement door.
For my front door, I got a FeatherRiver door from HD. They had a 20% sale, so I saved a ton of money. I don't have pics yet, since it's still wrapped up on the side of the house...
