where did you stay in the napa.sonoma area?
we are having a b!tch of a time deciding. Some places are just too much $$$$$...some are not as luxurious as we would like.
I would like to stay somewhere a little off the beaten path. Any insight? I know some of you have given me recs..some of those places are now too much $$$ or require a weeks stay.
TIA!

We stayed at the Best Western in Calistoga-- def. not luxurious, but it was a really great, very affordable hotel in walking distance to the town-- the hotel had a pool and included breakfast. Two pluses in a VERY expensive area.

tons of hotel listings here
if it were me, I would just choose a Holiday INN Express or a Best Western type hotel. you won't be spending much time in the room anyway.

We stayed at the Marriott in Napa and liked it a lot. We aren't really B&B people.
ETA: We got the room 1/2 price through Priceline.

We just stayed at the Marriott in Napa a few weeks ago. We love Marriott hotels. We got a deal including breakfast and they do great breakfasts!
We chose the Marriott because we only stayed one night and all the B&Bs had a 2 night minimum requirement. They also had a nice pool and spa, which you won't find at a B&B.

I just fell upon this really nice Inn. The Honor Inn.
We wanted something really luxurious and romantic but not ridiculous.
I'm hoping they have avails.
Honor Inn
it has a pool and spa..massages in room..

Re: where did you stay in the napa.sonoma area?
In Sonoma we stayed at the Grape Leaf Inn- had a geat location right in the town of Healdsburg. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was beautiful. They had a great afternoon wine and cheese in the really cool wine cellar. We were able to meet the other guests and chat with the innkeepers, it was really nice.
In Napa we stayed at the 1801 First Inn. That was AMAZING!! The room we had was huge with a big ole jacuzzi in the room. You could walk into Napa from there. They had a great breakfast and they also had a nice evening wine and cheese. It was total luxury!!
Let me know if you need any other info. We were there for a week during our honeymoon and I spent a LOT of time planning the trip so I researched a lot of different places!!
