Where did your baby's name come from?
Just curious to see how people picked the name for their child..
out of a book? named after a family member? heard it and liked it? picked out of a hat???
ETA: we found in a book and liked it anyway is named after his Dad (and G'pa and Great G'pa)

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
One of our names came from a fcition book I read. The other from a baby name book but we are not settled on that yet. One of the babies' middle names came from a wine list! We don't have a middle name for the other yet

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
We're naming after grandparents.... DH's grandmother was Cecile and My grandfather was Rudy so we're doing something sort of close to both....sort of close

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
For a I picked Isabella because me and my 2 sisters all have "ella" names I'm Rafaela, my younger sister is Gabriela and my baby sister is Manuela. I wanted to keep the tradition alive!!!! lol
For a Dh got Adriano from a Brazilian soccer player. He's a soccer fanatic. The baby is 1/2 Brazilian so I guess it fits! lol

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
I just liked them!! The baby, whether a or a , is not named after anyone. We picked names that were nice but a little uncommon. No story or reason behind them.

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
In the Jewish religion, you name the baby after someone who has passed. DS was named after DH's grandfather and my father's uncle that he was very close with. This baby will be named after DH's grandmother and my dad's sister.

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
We used (are using) first letters of names of family members who have passed.
DS - J (for my g'ma Jenny), P (for g'pa Paul - DH side)
I think will be an R (for cousin Robert - my side) and J (aunt Jeanne on DH side).

That's okay, my son's name is Dylan, from 90210. We're Jewish but only his Hebrew names are for the deceased. Rylan is a great name!

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
Ed-lie's English names come from the Old Testament. We actually picked them according to their true meaning. That was very important to us and our Jewish heritage.
Before my mother passed away, Ed-lie was going to be named with female derivatives of my father and DH's grandfather's Hebrew names. Though that is still the case, we decided to give her a second middle Hebrew name - my mother's Hebrew name.
We did not match initials to the people who are deceased. That is not required, simply customary.

The baby's English name will not be for anyone deceased - but the baby's Hebrew name will be for my mother's grandmother

My DH is a soccer fanatic also. Everytime he watches a game, he starts calling out all of the names to ask me my opinion... LOL!

Well first I wanted Mckayla... then FH said no way. SO I liked Kayla and just thought it was a little too common so looked up different spellings of it in the baby name book and found Kaila

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
My DD will be Lilah Marie.
Lilah is shortened from Hey There Delilah. When my BF and I were first dating it was long distance--he lived in VA and I lived in NY. He dedicated that song to me before I had even heard it and so explained it's about a guy who misses his girl in NYC and says he would do anything to get to her- drive, take a plane, take a train etc, and said that's how he felt. After I listened to the song, I said we should name our first daughter Delilah. But then after a little while, we both said we liked it shortened to Lilah better. Turns out our first baby is a little girl.
Marie is my middle name, my mom's first name, and he's grandma's middle name.

Re: Where did your baby's name come from?
Jared Robert~I always loved the name..It was my dh's cousin's friend's name (if that makes sense ) and Robert is my dh's name.
Baby #2 is Nikolas Roger. I just love the spelling of the first name and Roger is my dad's name.
