Where do you buy "Good" kids shoes....
besides Stride Rite? I have used Joseph's shoes in Mt. Sinai in the past but I HATE them, they are very dishonest and rude and will never go back. Where else can I go. DD needs XXW and usually does better in European Brands.

Nordstroms has nice shoes, all different brands, they measure and sometimes have sales.

I am so surprised to read this about Joseph's. We've always had great experiences there! Though they are a bit pricey, they have always been helpful...sorry you had a bad experience with them

I know you said not stride rite but Im not sure if you didnt want them because of $$...I use the stride rite outlet in riverhead. They are always very helpful fitting DD and their shoes are much more reasonable than the SR store.

Its not $ they have little to no selection on doubleXL. They actually told me, they had nothing to offer me at 2 Stride Rites.

One time, years ago, with DD#1, the sales guy that I hate(the shorter of the 2 guys with the darker hair and heavy accent) sold me a pair of shoes. I told the guy that I thought they were too big. He argued with me and told me they were fine. I trusted him. Then Jordan kept falling over the next week or so. My mom was like, her shoes are way to big. I took her back(with the shoes in my diaper bag) and had the other salesman measure her. Well... the shoes were TWO sizes too big. He just wanted to sell me a $75 pair of shoes that he had in stock. I had to raise hell to get my money back. Today, I took Peyton in and the salesman that I hate was there. I asked to have her measured(which he did) and he was avoiding telling me her size. I asked 3 or 4 times. He kept saying let me see what I have for her in the back. I was like can I tell YOU what I like???? He refused to tell me what her width was. I asked 10 friggin times. Is she still a double XL or has she slimmed down. His answer, "she is perfect" every time! I think he was afraid I was gonna order on the internet or something. He puts on these gross ugly shoes that look like they had defective soles.(they were to different thicknesses)He said they were perfect! Peyton was clearly uncomfortable and pulling at them. I told him they were too tight at the ankle and he said to me, " You are questioning my 35 years of experience?" I said, No but she is obviously not happy. He said, " Do you want shoes that fit or do you want me to listen to the mom?" I said, you are the rudest, most unprofessional and condesending person I have ever met and I am leaving!
